The 11 year solar cycle, also known as the sunspot cycle, is a predictable pattern of activity observed on the Sun. The cycle is characterized by the appearance and disappearance of sunspots on the surface of the Sun.

The current solar cycle, known as Solar Cycle 25, began in December 2019 and is expected to peak in 2025.
