Story behind the life of a bat

A baby bat is born almost blind, with their eyes still closed up and ears not yet fully developed. As they gain their strength, they become more active, learning how to fly and use their wings to maneuver their way through the air. Each baby bat is already equipped with the proper muscles and bones needed to propel them through the air, and as they get older, they become more proficient at flying. Along the way, they will learn to forage for food, like insects and small fruits, in order to independently survive. 

As a bat gets older and nears maturity, their wingspan begins to increase drastically and they can cover large distances in a short period of time, thanks to their strong wings. For most members of the species, by the time they reach the age of one year, they are able to achieve complete autonomy and fully fend for themselves. At this point, they are well-adapted to living on their own and they begin to mature into powerful predators of the night.

Once a bat is mature, they enter their prime and they continue to thrive. They become incredibly agile in the dark and master longer distances in flight. Unlike most other mammals, bats continue to live for many years beyond maturity. With healthy eating and evading predators, bats have been known to have lifespans of up to thirty or even forty years. 

The life of a bat is remarkable, from their birth as a helpless baby up until their twilight years. At the peak of their life, an adult bat is an amazing creature to behold. They can fly with grace, they’re able to find food on their own, and they live longer than most mammals of the same size. Bats may not be the most pleasant creature to some, but their life story is one we can all take inspiration of.
